We have heard from many of you who have been randomly selected to participate in the Quality Assurance Competency Review and Evaluation (CRE) Process this year. We recognize that this is a difficult and trying time for everyone and we are committed to working with our Registrants
We are writing to provide you with an important update regarding this year’s CRE process.
The Quality Assurance Committee has:
1. Extended the deadline for portfolio submission to May 4, 2020. Portfolios can be submitted by email to qa@collegeofopticians.ca. If you are unable to email your portfolio in, please fax it to 1-416-368-2713.
2. Suspended the Multi-Source Feedback Process until next year. Participation in the Multi-Source Feedback (MSF) process has been deferred until next year, 2021. If you have already completed the MSF process, you will receive your results as usual. If you have not started or only partially completed the MSF process, you will have the option of applying the surveys that have already been completed to next year and completing the additional requirements at that time or starting fresh.
3. Suspended all Peer and Practice Assessments until further notice.
